The Milwaukie Police Department has a team of Peer Support Personnel who receive quarterly training. Each of our peer support team members have been trained to intervene at critical moments in a co-worker’s life, but more importantly, look to preventative solutions associated with issues plaguing first responders.

Peer support conversations are confidential and protected by Oregon law, with few exceptions. Exceptions to confidentiality include: Threats of suicide/homicide, disclosure of child/elder abuse, and admission of criminal conduct.
